Master Gardeners in Cattaraugus County are excited to announce free community workshops at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Office in Ellicottville. Master Gardeners will share their knowledge on a variety of horticulture-related topics. These are family events open to anyone who wants to learn!
The first workshop will be “Gardening for Pollinators” on Wednesday, September 28th 5:00pm- 6:00pm. Master Gardener, Tamara Bacho will share her knowledge about creating a garden space that is inviting to our pollinators, such as butterflies. Monarch butterflies are now on the endangered species list, so Tamara will discuss ways that you can help increase their chances of survival with some tips and tricks.
Some additional topics that will be included in the Fall workshop series are:
• “Beekeeping 101: Role of Bees in Agriculture” Wednesday, October 12th 6:00pm-7:00pm
• “Organic Gardening: Pest and Weed Management” Saturday, October 15th 12:00pm-1:00pm
• “Food Preservation: Canning, Jams and More!” Tuesday, October 18th 6:00pm-7:00pm
