Starting on Tuesday March 19th, CCE Cattaraugus will begin a short format program series about handing eggs and coloring eggs through the spring Easter season. The programs will be recorded and then distributed through email to anyone registered for the online discussions and demonstrations through Monday, March 31st.
The series will include topics about safely preparing the eggs, rules and regulations about production and sales in NY State, information about “colored” eggs directly from the chickens and coloring and decorating techniques using naturally prepared colors, food coloring and some techniques we found and really want to try. Healthy recipes using hard boiled eggs will be shared.
The short format discussions will be hosted by CCE Staff, including our Executive Director Kelly McDonald, EFNEP Community Nutrition Educator, Gayle Patterson, our SNAP Educator-Lead Nutritionist, Melinda Drabant and Master Food Preserver Tamara Bacho as well as Guests from local Agricultural and not-for-profit organizations.
