Farmers get rid of old Chemicals on April 29

Farmers and other ag-related businesses in Cattaraugus County and Western New York can pre-register to get rid of their unwanted chemical materials on several days in 2014.

One of those days will be on April 29, 2014 in Salamanca, NY (specific location will be provided upon registration). At the time of this posting the specific time is unknown.

From CleanSweepNY.org

CleanSweepNY is an Environmental Benefit Project administered in partnership with the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) which was initially established with approximately $2.2 million from several enforcement settlements in DEC's Pest Management program. The collections are scheduled and organized by NYSDEC with the collaboration of NYSDOT who provides sites for the collection of these unwanted chemical materials.

CleanSweepNY is supported by Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Agricultural Container Recycling Council, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, New York Farm Bureau, and related grower associations. These services will be provided to New York State farmers and other entities within the New York agriculture community, certified pesticide applicators, and schools.
