Punxsutawney Phil called for 6 more weeks of winter, and it appears that he wasn’t joking considering the below zero windchills we’ll be faced with this weekend. Knowing that we are slated for winter to continue, I figured it would be a good time to share about an upcoming exam opportunity for the NYSDEC pesticide exam.
I am excited to announce that SWNYDLFC with the NYSDEC will be hosting a “NYSDEC How to Get Certified Course” in Ellicottville this March! This program runs from 10 am – 12 pm on March 3rd, where attendees will be able to learn more about how to maintain and get their pesticide license, worker protection standard, record keeping, and test taking strategies. As part of this program, participants will have the opportunity to sign up in person for a scheduled DEC exam taking place on March 10th, with a notary on site.
Attached, I have the promotion for the course with the frequently asked questions for determining eligibility, what is needed to register for an exam, and location information. You can also find the information on our website here. We’ll be sharing this through our networks over the next week through weekly updates, our newsletter, social media, and a press release.
One of the biggest pieces that I would like to share is that all participants interested in taking exams need to purchase books on their own in advance to study. From my understanding, individuals can still purchase PMEP materials (such as manuals) through the bookstore, and that it is only the CCE offices that now must go through e-shop.
Additionally, we recognize that there are folks already licensed and looking for recertification points, so we do have CORE credits available. If there are questions, or for those interested in registering, have them reach out to me at 716-640-2047.
Thank you all for your continued support! Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thanks in advance for sharing this with your networks!
